Thanks for the inspirational read, Sonia! Trying something like starting your own company is quite scary and nerve wracking. There is a lot to learn from Rand’s story. Transparency is the key to success. I think this is the take away from this story. I have been following Rand’s blog since I started my blogging career back in 2010. MOZ is the best place to learn SEO and the community is pretty helpful. Thanks for publishing his story.

As a professional SEO, I tend to use Rand’s Moz tools every day. It is almost weird to think that they were close to not existing. It is great to hear their story and I am thankful that they stuck it out and put out a great product.

I really enjoyed this article. A few months ago I had the honor of featuring Rand as an expert guest on my Productive Insights podcast.

It was an awesome discussion around content marketing.

Although the interview was about content marketing, I opened the conversation by asking Rand to talk about kindness as a competitive advantage. I absolutely loved his response!

Sonia I can’t wait to have you as an expert guest on my show. We talked about you being a guest on the show sometime last year but “life happened”!

Great article! I have heard the podcast interview with Rand Fishkin as well. There’s no doubt Rand is an outstanding and very creative thinker. But more importantly, he is even more transparent.
